How much does pipe relining cost per metre in Sydney? Is it worth it? Does it last? All your questions, answered honestly.
Pipe relining is a trenchless method of repairing damaged or broken pipes from the inside. Instead of digging up your garden or driveway to replace the pipe, we insert a flexible epoxy-coated liner into the existing pipe and inflate it to form a brand new, seamless pipe within the old one. Once cured, it's structurally stronger than the original pipe — and root-proof.
Most residential reline jobs are completed in a single day — often just a few hours. The liner typically cures in 2–4 hours depending on conditions. We can usually have your plumbing fully operational again the same day we start.
No. That's the whole point of pipe relining. We work through existing access points — inspection openings, clean-outs, or toilets. Your garden, tiles, concrete and driveway stay exactly as they are. No excavation, no mess, no reinstatement costs.
The epoxy liner we use is rated for 50+ years of structural life — and we back that up with a 50-year warranty. Independent testing and decades of real-world installations support this. A quality reline genuinely outlasts many of the original pipes it's installed in.
If the blockage is within the relined section, we come back and fix it free of charge. The 50-year warranty covers structural failures and blockages caused by the liner itself. Tree roots can't penetrate a cured epoxy liner — so root-caused blockages in relined sections are effectively eliminated.
We reline 100mm standard household drain pipes and 150mm large/main sewer pipes — the two most common sizes in Sydney residential properties. For other sizes or commercial applications, get in touch via the quote form and a specialist will advise.
Yes — always. We include a CCTV drain inspection free with every reline job because we need to see exactly what we're dealing with before we quote a final price. It also protects you: we show you the problem on screen so you know exactly what you're paying for. No blind guessing, no upselling sections that don't need relining.
We service the North Shore, Upper North Shore, Northern Beaches, Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney and most of Greater Sydney. If you're unsure, submit the quote form with your postcode and a specialist will confirm availability when they call.
Pipe relining in Sydney costs from $1,200 + GST for the first metre, then $500 + GST per additional metre for standard 100mm household drain pipes. For 150mm sewer or main drain pipes, additional metres are $700 + GST each. These are our published prices — no hidden callout fees, no surprise "access surcharges." In almost every residential case, yes — pipe relining is significantly more cost-effective than traditional pipe replacement. Replacing a buried pipe requires excavation (digging up your garden, driveway or tiles), plus the cost of reinstating all that landscaping afterward. Relining removes the need to dig entirely. It costs less, takes less time, and comes with a 50-year warranty. Unless the pipe is completely collapsed and a liner can't be inserted, relining is almost always the better choice.
Yes — epoxy pipe lining has been in use for over 30 years and is independently rated for 50+ years of structural life. We offer a 50-year warranty on every reline because we believe in the material. The cured epoxy liner is actually stronger than the original pipe, seamless (no joints for roots to enter), and chemical-resistant. Real-world installs from the 1980s are still performing as intended. A quality pipe reline genuinely outlasts most of the original clay or concrete pipes it's installed inside.
Not through the relined section — the cured epoxy liner is completely seamless with no joints for roots to exploit. Tree roots enter pipes through cracks, joints and joins in the original pipe. Once those sections are relined, that entry point is permanently sealed. Roots cannot penetrate cured epoxy. If you have ongoing root issues in sections that weren't relined, they may recur — which is why we use CCTV to check the full pipe run and recommend relining any compromised sections.
Pipe relining (trenchless / no-dig): We insert a flexible epoxy liner through existing access points, inflate it inside the broken pipe, and cure it to form a new pipe within the old one. No excavation. Usually completed in one day. Cost: from $1,200 first metre.
Pipe replacement (traditional): The ground above the pipe is excavated, the old pipe is physically dug out and replaced, then the ground is reinstated. Requires days of work, heavy machinery, and significant reinstatement costs (replacing concrete, tiles, garden). Typically costs 2–4× more than relining for the same length of pipe.
Takes 60 seconds. No obligation. A specialist will call you within 2 hours.
